We fund open-source projects that keep the internet running. We build water wells and fund medical aid where people need it most. That's Hosting for Good — real support for real infrastructure, physical and digital.

Who we are

A hosting company that funds what it runs on. We sponsor open-source projects our servers depend on — and provide infrastructure to projects that can’t afford it yet.

Why we do it

OpenSSL secures every connection on our servers. curl runs on every machine we operate. Two-thirds of the internet depends on projects that were barely funded a decade ago. We’d rather support them than take them for granted.

Where it started

It started with water wells in Kenya. Then medical aid. Then open-source sponsorships. Different problems, same principle: infrastructure shouldn’t be a barrier.

Projects we support

Foundational infrastructure

Some open-source projects are so embedded in the internet that most people forget they exist. Until something breaks. OpenSSL encrypts every HTTPS connection. curl transfers data on virtually every server and device on the planet. These projects power our infrastructure too. Sponsoring them is paying for what we use.

Self-hosting ecosystem

We sponsor tools that help developers build and manage their own infrastructure. Coolify lets you deploy a full self-hosting platform on a single VPS, and it’s one of the fastest-growing open-source projects in the space. We provide the servers and back the projects that make them useful.

Apply for free infrastructure

Building an open-source project or running a non-profit initiative? We can provide free VPS or dedicated server hosting starting with a 12-month term, renewable as long as your project is active. No strings attached, just infrastructure for projects that make a difference.

Who can apply?

Any open-source project with an OSI-approved license, or a registered non-profit organization.

What do we provide?

Free VPS or dedicated server for 12 months, renewable annually. We check in once a year to see how things are going.

How do you select projects?

We review applications on a rolling basis. We prioritize active projects with clear infrastructure needs and a visible community.

I applied but didn’t hear back.

We review every application, but can only respond to projects we’re ready to support. If you haven’t heard from us within two weeks, we’re unable to help at this time, but you’re welcome to apply again later.
