Coolify VPS Hosting

Self-hosted Heroku alternative on a VPS. Deploy Coolify on isolated KVM cores and ship Next.js, Postgres, and Docker apps from Git in minutes — without enterprise PaaS bills.

What you can do with self-hosted Coolify on VPS

App deployment from Git

Connect a GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket repository. Nixpacks auto-detects the framework, so you skip writing a Dockerfile for most projects. Preview environments spin up for pull requests, failed builds roll back automatically, and multi-container stacks deploy from a single docker-compose.yml.

280+ one-click services

Coolify's built-in catalog includes Ghost, WordPress, Supabase, n8n, Plausible, Uptime Kuma, Directus, MinIO, and hundreds more. Select a service, set environment variables, and deploy. No YAML to write, no Docker Compose to debug from scratch.

Automatic SSL and reverse proxy

Coolify VPS hosting ships with Traefik pre-configured. Point a custom domain at your server's IP address, and Let's Encrypt certificates are issued and renewed automatically. The Coolify dashboard and every deployed app run over HTTPS by default.

Multi-server management

One Coolify instance can manage multiple servers. Add more is*hosting VPS nodes as workers, then deploy apps to specific servers from a single dashboard. Run databases on one node, application containers on another.

Full Docker and Docker Compose support

Any Dockerfile, any pre-built image from Docker Hub or a private registry, any docker-compose.yml. If it runs in a container, it runs on Coolify. And on your Coolify VPS hosting as well.

Boost Your VPS Server Resources

Check out how you can change the configuration of your VPS. You can purchase additional drive space, increase CPU performance, add RAM, and take advantage of additional services without having to switch to a new plan.

Get started with Coolify on your VPS

Your VPS arrives with Coolify Community Edition pre-configured — Docker, ports, and firewall are already set up.

Step 01 — Order a VPS with the Coolify image

Pick a plan, select Coolify in the OS section at checkout, and order. Docker, Coolify, and firewall/port settings are ready upon server boot.

Step 02 — Open the Coolify dashboard

Once provisioned, open Coolify in your browser using your server's IP address and the port Coolify listens on.

http://YOUR_SERVER_IP:8000

Step 03 — Create your admin account

On first load, Coolify prompts you to register the root admin user. This account is local to your server — set a strong password and store it in a password manager.

Step 04 — Point your domain (optional, recommended)

Add an A record for your domain to the server IP so Traefik can issue Let's Encrypt SSL automatically.

; DNS zone recordapp.example.com. A YOUR_SERVER_IP

Step 05 — Connect a Git source

In Sources, connect GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. Coolify installs a GitHub App / deploy key and can auto-deploy on push.

Step 06 — Create your first application

Create a new resource, select the connected repository and branch. Nixpacks auto-detects the framework — no Dockerfile required for most stacks.

Step 07 — Set environment variables

Add runtime variables in the app's Environment tab. Mark secrets as build-time or runtime as needed.

NODE_ENV=productionDATABASE_URL=postgres://user:pass@db:5432/appPORT=3000

Step 08 — Deploy

Hit Deploy. Coolify builds the image, starts the container, wires up Traefik, and issues SSL. Watch live logs in the dashboard.

Common Coolify setup issues and how to fix them

  • Dashboard won't load on port 8000 — the server is still provisioning or the port is blocked. Wait for provisioning to finish, then check the firewall allows 8000 (you have full root/SSH).
  • SSL certificate not issued — Let's Encrypt can't validate the domain. Point the A record at the correct server IP and open ports 80/443 for the HTTP-01 challenge.
  • Out-of-memory during build — Coolify uses ~1 GB idle and a Next.js build can spike to 3-4 GB. Upgrade RAM in place (up to 32 GB) or move to the Medium plan.
  • Git repository won't connect — the GitHub App or deploy key wasn't authorized. Re-add the source and confirm repository access scope.

is*hosting infrastructure is a solid foundation for Coolify

Your cores, your RAM via KVM

KVM virtualization with dedicated resources means the specs you pay for are the specs that run. No shared pool decides when a build gets OOM-killed mid-deploy.

No middlemen. Full control

We own our hardware and run Hi-End equipment across 40+ locations. You get root on every plan and resources you can scale up as your apps and databases grow.

Backed by Tier 3+ data centers

Every location meets Tier 3 standards or higher — redundant power and network plus physical security — so the server running your Coolify instance stays up.

Ready to deploy Coolify?

Pick a plan, select Coolify in the OS section, and order. Your VPS arrives with Coolify preinstalled in ~15 minutes — open the dashboard, connect a repo, and deploy.

Frequently asked questions about Coolify hosting

What is Coolify, and how does it compare to Heroku or Vercel?

Coolify is an open-source (Apache 2.0 license), self-hosted platform for deploying apps, databases, and services. It does what Heroku, Vercel, and Netlify do, but runs on your own VPS. You control the server, you own the data, and you pay a flat monthly fee instead of per-app pricing or bandwidth overages. Self-hosted Coolify pricing depends on the server. On is*hosting, that starts at $10.19/mo (Start VPS plan).

Is Coolify free?

Coolify Community Edition is free and open-source. The only cost is the VPS that runs it. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay on renewal. Coolify Cloud is hosted and managed by the Coolify team and is a separate paid product.

What are the minimum VPS requirements for Coolify?

Coolify officially requires 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM, and 30 GB of storage. That matches the is*hosting Start plan (from $10.19/mo). In practice, Coolify itself uses ~750 MB-1.2 GB of RAM before you deploy anything, so the Medium plan (3 CPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, from $21.24/mo) gives you headroom for production apps and builds.

How to install Coolify on VPS?

On is*hosting, Coolify comes preinstalled. Select the Coolify image when ordering. Docker, Coolify, and correct firewall/port settings are ready when your server boots. Just open the dashboard and start deploying. Check the guide from our knowledge base if needed.

How long does Coolify VPS provision take?

On an is*hosting VPS with Coolify preinstalled, the server is ready in 5-15 minutes after payment.

Does Coolify require Docker?

Yes. Coolify runs everything as Docker containers using Docker Engine 24+. On is*hosting VPS plans with the Coolify image, Docker, and Docker Compose are pre-installed and configured.

Will my server get throttled if builds spike the CPU?

No. is*hosting Coolify VPS runs on KVM with dedicated CPU cores — they're allocated to you, not shared. A Next.js or Docker multi-stage build that pins all cores to 100% for 60 seconds is completely normal and won't trigger any throttling or flags. Fair-use limits apply to shared network bandwidth only — CPU and RAM are yours.

Why does server location matter for Coolify?

First, if you manage your Coolify dashboard daily, the difference between 50 ms and 250 ms latency adds up — every page load, every deploy trigger, every log scroll. Second, if your apps serve end users in a specific region, a nearby server improves their TTFB, which directly affects Core Web Vitals and search rankings. is*hosting has 40+ locations across 5 continents — pick the one or test them all.

Is self-hosting Coolify on a VPS secure?

Yes, it's secure with the right configuration. Coolify isolates apps in Docker containers and routes traffic through Traefik with automatic Let's Encrypt SSL. is*hosting adds KVM-level kernel isolation, full root access for firewall and iptables configuration, and weekly backups for recovery after misconfigurations or failed deployments.
